Definitely empathize with your quest for support from friends – it’s terrible when you put yourself out there and those closest to you somehow can’t fill those shoes. But you keep on keepin’ on – that’s admirable. I’m an anxious mess in that whole scene – critiquing and being critiqued!
I think you could do well with help from a graphic designer. I see you have a lot of concepts in mind; but I bet someone could help translate them into a more attractive package. My husband studied design for a few years and constantly shows me examples of how a little extra typography insight can go a long way. I think that kind of conveyance could pique more interest in your writing!
